A urinary tract infection, also called cystitis, is something extremely painful, which tends to become chronic in some people

Sensations of unpleasant tingling are first felt at the level of the crotch, which are followed unbearable pain when comes the time to urinate. When you have a urinary tract infection for the first time, you panic of course, but the second and the following, we tend to rush to the doctor at the first signs of tingling.

Why especially women are affected by urinary tract infections? Well because it comes from a contamination of the urethra by a bacterium, which eventually causes the infection. The bacteria can go farther than the bladder and become lodged in nothing, to cause pyelonephritis, in which case the pain is even more unbearable.

What to do to get rid of it?

Urinary infections tend to return and become chronic and in these cases, antibiotics are de rigueur (see the drugs against urinary tract infections), because the pain is too unbearable. It is therefore essential to treat the infection thoroughly, because if it is not treated, it will come back even stronger.

However, once the antibiotics are over, you can treat yourself in a natural way, to prevent a new infection is triggered. For those who do not like to take antibiotics, the use of natural products can be done from the beginning.

First of all, be aware that it is strongly recommended to drink plenty of fluids, which will result in urinating often and this is how the infection will go faster.

Which natural products to choose?

As for herbal teas, you can simply make infusions of thyme, which is an antiviral and antibacterial plant. For this, simply infuse 25g of thyme in 1 liter of water and drink it every 4 hours after filtering.

You can also choose artichoke tea or green tea, at a rate of 3 to 4 cups a day, which have diuretic properties and which will allow the infusion to disappear more quickly.

You can also make poultices of leek, by boiling 2 leeks in a saucepan, then by making them return to the pan. Then simply put them in a cloth and place the laundry on the stomach until they are hotter.

You can also opt for a massage with essential oils on the stomach, such as thyme, tarragon, sandalwood or savory.

On the side supplements, you can absorb more vitamin C and especially cranberry, whether in juice or seeds, because this fruit prevents bacteria to attach to the urinary walls. Blueberry juice is just as effective as cranberry juice.

Two tablespoons of coconut oil a day will help you fight the infection. Or, mix 20ml of apple vinegar in 2 dl of water and drink it during the day.
